Super Destronaut DX-2 is a shoot ‘em up, available on most platforms, with plenty of explosive
gameplay and content. It has 30 story missions to complete and 5 different game modes to play.
Being the third game in the Super Destronaut series it has the burden of improving the hectic and
enthralling gameplay of its predecessor. Fortunately, with its variety of game modes it succeeds in
being the best game in the series. Super Destronaut DX-2 is a blast from the past and is full of
sheer fun.

Gameplay.

Super Destronaut DX-2 is packed full of exhilarating content. Play one of 5 exciting arcade modes:
Attempt the thought-provoking Bullet Mode with limited bullets, dart across the screen to briskly kill
enemies in Time Attack, survive with 3 lives in a prototypical Classic Mode, safely but swiftly
murder enemies in Time Rush, and linger alive in the brutally difficult Hardcore Mode. Repeat
these modes to improve your scores on the gratifying results page. Experience a simplistic
escalating in difficulty campaign packed full of challenges and shoot ‘em up mayhem. Enjoy a
retro, space invaders inspired, adventure as you obliterate enemies attacking from above and
below you. Evade a range of dangerous attacks coming from unique enemies. Improve your
scores by building up a multiplier, simply by surviving. Super Destronaut DX-2 is a game that
promotes improvements as you play. While playing it encourages you to ameliorate and get better
at challenges.

Visuals, animations, and music.

The music is amazing in Super Destronaut DX-2. However, at times it felt out of place as the fast-
paced music did not fit the calmer game modes. Although, the beautiful and smooth enemy
animations make up for this. Visually the game is stunning with colourful and vibrant backgrounds.

Completion.

Ratalaika Games and Petite Games have once again done a fantastic job making an engaging,
enjoyable, and easy completion. The achievements task the player with completing 2 worlds in the
campaign and getting a certain score in each game mode. These achievements are very quickly
unlocked, and Super Destronaut DX-2 should take less than 20 minutes to complete.

Conclusion.

Developed by Petite Games and published by Ratalaika Games, Super Destronaut is a mindless
fun masterpiece packed to the brim with a frenzy of fun action. With 5 game modes to choose from
there are plenty of ways to play. Although it seems to be inspired by retro shoot ‘em ups it has a
unique feel to it, with its bright visuals and new mechanics. Achievement hunters can enjoy a
stress-free experience while completing this game. The visuals and animations were all colourful
and pretty. However, the music, although good, took away from the relaxing gameplay and visuals.
This is a must buy for all shoot ‘em up fans and achievement hunters.
