Storm Boy is an interactive adventure based on the children's book of the same name by Colin Thiele. It tells the story of a boy who discovers three orphaned pelicans on the beach where he lives.
The game features several minigames revolving around activities that Storm Boy does on his beach. These minigames are short and, while not terribly involved or in any way difficult, are relaxing. More importantly, this should be seen as an interactive adaptation of a children's book, which is exactly what it is.
Storm Boy is a very short game. In fact, reading this review might take you almost as long as the full completion. If you are looking for fast achievements with little difficulty, this is for you.
With regards to value as a game, if you consider that many children's books are $15-20 in stores, a $6 price tag for an interactive version of the same book is a relatively good deal. (Your mileage may vary, depending on how far removed you are from childhood.) The artwork is beautiful, and it is a rather relaxing 20-minute experience that you may find might linger with you for at least a while.
Plus an easy 1000 in 20 minutes is worth at least 1 extra star.
